Comprehensive research on physical properties of Zn and M (M: Li, Na, K) double doped cadmium oxide (CdO) nanostructures using SILAR method
(ELSEVIER SCI LTD, 2017) Aydin, Rasit; Sahin, Bunyamin
This research outlines the effect of Zn doping, (Zn+Li), (Zn+Na) and (Zn+K) doubly doping of nanostructured CdO films on the structural, morphological and optical properties of the films. Un-doped, Zn-doped, (Zn+Li), (Zn+Na) and (Zn+K) double doped CdO films were synthesized on soda lime glass substrates by the SILAR method. Manufactured CdO films attached well to the glass substrates, exhibited nano-sized structures, and the physical properties of the nanoparticles were modified by co-doping. The XRD analysis confirmed that all the films exhibited face-centered cubic structure with (111) and (200) preferential growth. Calculated crystallite size values of the CdO films via the Scherrer equation decreased with Zn doping and double-doping. Optical measurements revealed that doping modifies the band gap enabling the potential of these films to be utilized in optoelectronic applications.

The critical mission of glycine as a surfactant in the improvement of structural, morphological and optoelectronic features of CdO films
(ACADEMIC PRESS LTD- ELSEVIER SCIENCE LTD, 2018) Aydin, Rasit
The main aim of this study is to examine the effect of glycine as a surfactant agent on the physical properties of CdO films. For this purpose nanostructured CdO films with and without different glycine aggregations (0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 M %) were synthesized on glass bases by SILAR technique. The morphological, structural and optical characteristics of these films have been investigated using MM, SEM, XRD and UV-visible spectroscopy respectively. The MM results showed homogeneous and smooth all films. The SEM graphs showed that by using different glycine concentrations as surfactant, the particle thickness decreased from 366.25 nm to 24110 nm. XRD results showed that the all CdO films with glycine display a (111) and (200) preferential orientations similar to that of the CdO film without glycine. The direct band gap energy of these films is found to increase from 2.05 to 2.35 eV with increasing the glycine concentration in the bath solution. (C) 2018 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

The electronic properties of a two-electron multi-shell quantum dot-quantum well heterostructure
(AMER INST PHYSICS, 2013) Aydin, Rasit; Sahin, Mehmet
A detailed investigation of the electronic properties of a double electron in a core/shell/well/shell quantum dot heterostructure has been systematically studied for cases with and without an on-center donor impurity. For this purpose, the Poisson-Schrodinger equations have been solved self-consistently in the frame of the single band effective mass approximation and Hartree treatment. The variation of the binding energies of negatively charged donor impurity (D-) have been examined for different core radii, shell thicknesses, and well widths. The results obtained have been presented comparatively as a function of layer thicknesses and probable physical reasons behind in their behavior have been discussed. (C) 2013 AIP Publishing LLC.

The intersubband optical properties of a two-electron quantum dot-quantum well heterostructure
(ACADEMIC PRESS LTD- ELSEVIER SCIENCE LTD, 2015) Aydin, Rasit; Tas, Hatice; Sahin, Mehmet
In this paper, both linear and third-order nonlinear optical properties of two-electron in a semiconductor core/shell/well/shell quantum dot (QD) heterostructure for cases with and without a hydrogenic donor impurity have been investigated in a detailed manner as depending on the structure parameters. For this purpose, first, the energy eigenvalues and corresponding wave functions of the structure have been computed as a function of the layer thicknesses by means of the self-consistent solution of the Poisson and Schrodinger equations in envelope function effective mass approximation. Second, using these energy eigenvalues and their wave functions obtained from the calculations, both linear and third-order nonlinear optical properties of the multi-shell QD (MSQD) with two-electron have been determined as a function of the photon energies and shell thicknesses. Also, all procedures mentioned above have been repeated for negatively charged donor impurity (D-) located in the center of the same structure. Finally, obtained results have been presented comparatively for cases with and without the impurity. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

The role of Triton X-100 as a surfactant on the CdO nanostructures grown by the SILAR method
(ELSEVIER SCIENCE SA, 2017) Aydin, Rasit; Sahin, Bunyamin
In this work, the effect of surfactant Triton X-100 (TX-100) on structural, morphological and optical properties of nanostructured CdO films has been researched. Four series of nanostructured CdO films with TX-100 concentrations of 0.25e1.0 M% of the growth solution were prepared by the Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) technique on glass substrates and were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, surface roughness, X-Ray diffraction and UV-Vis. Spectroscopy. Scanning electron microscopy exhibited that the particle thickness increased with increasing TX-100 content. Surface roughness (Ra) measurement exhibited that Ra value accordingly decreases in the presence of TX-100. From the X-Ray diffraction patterns it was calculated that the crystallite size of the films increased parallel to the particle size with increasing TX-100 content. UV results presented that the optical bandgap values of the film can be adjusted with TX-100 content where optical bandgap decreased with increasing TX-100 content in the growth bath. The results show that the amount of TX-100 in the growth bath played a significant mission in adjusting the main physical properties of the nanostructured CdO film. (C) 2017 Elsevier B. V. Sodium dodecyl sulfate-assisted SILAR synthesis of nanostructured cadmium oxide films
(ELSEVIER SCI LTD, 2016) Aydin, Rasit; Sahin, Bunyamin; Bayansal, Fatih
Nanostructured CdO films were prepared on glass substrates by a surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) assisted SILAR technique. The influence of SDS concentrations of the growth solution on the structural, morphological and optical properties of the films was investigated and discussed. From the metallurgical microscope and scanning electron microscope images, it was seen that the surface morphology of the films are significantly enhanced by SDS addition. XRD investigations confirmed that the films have good crystallinity levels and are grown preferentially in (111) and (200) orientations. UV-vis. spectroscopy investigations showed that the bandgap and transmittance values of the films are affected dramatically by SDS concentrations. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l. A study of the influences of transition metal (Mn,Ni) co-doping on the morphological, structural and optical properties of nanostructured CdO films
(SPRINGER, 2018) Gurbuz, Elif; Aydin, Rasit; Sahin, Bunyamin
In this paper, a systematic investigations on the effects of transition metals such as Mn and Ni-dopant on physical properties of cadmium oxide (CdO) thin films coated on soda lime glass substrates by using SILAR method have been reported. The characterizations of un-doped, Mn-doped (Cd-0.99 Mn0.01O) and Mn/Ni double doped CdO [(Cd0.99-xMn0.01NixO)(0 <= x <= 0.001)] films were investigated by SEM, EDX, XRD and UV-Vis spectrophotometry to determine the morphological, structural and optical properties, respectively. SEM analysis showed that the surface morphologies of the CdO films were influenced by Mn doping and Mn/Ni co-doping. The EDX result verified the presence of expected elements Cd, O, Mn and Ni in the growing solution. The crystal phases of the samples and their crystallinity quality have been investigated by XRD measurements. The X-ray diffractograms show all the diffraction peaks are highly intense also they demonstrate the preferential orientations of (111) and (200) directions. Optical investigations revealed red shift with Mn doping and Mn/Ni co-doping in the absorbance spectrum.
