    A Comparison of Traditional Higher Education in Ottoman State and Choson State

    Traditional higher education institutions played a role as a tool in the educating of power elites and constructing a higher state culture in the Otoman and Choson States. While higher education was organized on the basis of Confucian belief system in Choson State, in the Otoman State it took shape in the Islamic framework. In this study, Enderun and Salm-1 Seman Madrasas and followingly Dar-ul Funun were compared to the classical higher education institute, Sunggyungwan in the Choson Dynasty which took a crucial place in Korean history. It was analyzed that how those traditional higher education institutes played a role in the education of the power elites and building a higher state culture.

    Osmanlı Devleti ile Choson Devleti'nde Geleneksel Yükseköğretimin Karşılaştırılması

    Yükseköğretim geleneksel kurumlarıyla, Osmanlı Devleti ile Kore Choson Devleti'nde yönetici elitlerin yetiştirilmesinde ve üst bir devlet kültürünün oluşturulmasında araçsal olarak rol oynamıştır. Choson Devleti'nde Konfüçyüs inancı merkezli olan yükseköğretim örgütlenmesi, Osmanlı Devleti'nde İslam inancı esasında şekillenmiştir. Bu çalışmada Osmanlı'da Enderun ve Sahn-ı Seman Medreseleri ve sonrasındaki Dar-ül Fünûn ile Kore tarihinde önemli bir yer tutan Choson Hanedanı döneminin klasik yükseköğretim kurumu olan Sunggyungwan karşılaştırılmıştır. Devlet inşası için gerekli olan yüksek kültürün oluşturulması ve yönetici zümrenin yetiştirilmesinde bu kurumların nasıl rol oynadıkları irdelenmiştir.
