Congenitally Corrected Transposition of Great Arteries with Severe Rhythm Disturbances
    (2010) Kayrak M.; Kaya Z.; Gul E.E.; Ulgen M.S.; Yazici M.; Gumus S.; Paksoy Y.
Within recent years, much scientific attention has been devoted to adults with congenital heart disease (CHD) and probable complications. Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (CCTGA) is a rare, complex form of congenital heart defects. CCTGA is characterized by atrioventricular (AV) and ventriculoarterial (VA) discordance and, hence, by a physiologically normal direction of blood flow. The development of complete AV block and global ventricular dysfunction has been identified as the cause of cardiac death. Although the development of arrhythmias represents a major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with CHD, the account of all implantations of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD) is less than one percent. This paper presents a case of CCTGA with severe rhythm disorders, discusses probable treatment options, and offers indications of ICD implantation in patients with CHD.

A giant hamartoma of tuber cinerium: Conventional MR imaging and MR spectroscopy findings [Tuber sineryumun dev bir hamartomu: Konvansiyonel MR ve MR spektroskopi bulgulari{dotless}]
    (TIP ARASTIRMALARI DERNEGI, 2014) Koplay M.; Erdo?an H.; Sivri M.; Erol C.; Varo?lu A.; Paksoy Y.
Hypothalamic hamartoma is a developmental malformation in the region of tuber cinereum and mamillary bodies. It presents the most commonly detectable lesion in patients with precocious puberty and is associated with gelastic seizures. As well as, it can be completely silent to be found only incidentally. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic rezonans (MR) imaging are preferred imaging modalities in diagnose of hypothalamic hamartomas. The aim of this study is to present the radiologic imaging findings of a rare hypothalamic hamartoma case.

    Intralabyrinthine lipoma [İntralabirintin lipoma]
    (2012) Uyar Y.; Keleş B.; Paksoy Y.; Duran M.; Azimov A.
A 26-year-old man was admitted to our clinic with approximately 8 years history of hearing loss on the right side. The pathological findings were not found in the neuro-otological examination. Severity sensorinoral hearing loss (SNHL) was determined on the pure tone audiometry. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) were shown that the lipomatous lesion involved right cochlea, semicircular canal and internal auditorium canal. Intralabyrinthine lipoma was diagnosed via fat suppression techniques with MRI on T1-weighted images. The patient followed with MRI because he had just SNHL and the lesion minimal involved internal auditory canal.

Penile mondor's disease [Penil Mondor Hastali{dotless}?i{dotless}]
(Journal of Clinical and Analytical Medicine, 2014) Koplay M.; Islamo?lu N.; Erol C.; Paksoy Y.
Penile Mondor's disease (PMD) is superficial thrombophlebitis of the dorsal vein of the penis. It is a rare but easily diagnosed and treated disease. Although PMD is a benign disease, it can be cause the psychological problems such as anxiety. In addition, it is clinically confused with lesion of the penis such as sclerosing lymphangitis and Peyronie's disease. Therefore, the early diagnosis and treatment is important. In differential diagnosis, color Doppler ultrasonography is useful. We reported the clinical findings, diagnosis and treatment of PMD together with literature information in a patient 25 years-old.

Spinal hydatid cyst causing neural foraminal widening
    (Elsevier BV, 2003) Kocao?ullar Y.; Paksoy Y.; Özkal E.
We describe a case of 62-year-old woman whose major complaints were back pain radiating to the legs and progressive weakness in the lower limbs. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging showed spinal and paraspinal hydatid cysts causing neural foraminal widening, dumbbell appearance and spinal cord compression. The cysts were removed surgically. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.

Swyer-James syndrome: Demonstration by 64-slice 3D MDCT angiography and coronal MPR CT imaging
    (TIP ARASTIRMALARI DERNEGI, 2008) Sakarya M.E.; Koç O.; Aribaş O.; Özbek O.; Paksoy Y.; Nayman A.; Ödev K.
The 64-slice three dimensional (3D) multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) angiography and high resolution coronal multiplanar reformation (MPR) computed tomography (CT) images in inspiration and expiration were performed in a patient suspected of having Swyer - James syndrome. The right pulmonary system was normal. The left lung was small and hyperlucent. The left pulmonary arterial system was small but patent. Both lung contained bronchiectasis. High resolution coronal MPR CT images confirmed air trapping in the left lung and the right upper lobe. A diagnosis of Swyer-James syndrome was made.

Type A interrupted aortic arch in a pediatric case: Cardiac MR imaging and MR angiograph findings [Pediatrik bir olguda tip A interrupted aortic arch: Kardiyak MR görüntüleme ve MR anjiografi bulgulari]
    (2010) Paksoy Y.; Özbek O.; Koç O.; Nayman A.
Congenital heart disease constitutes the most common form of pediatric heart diseases. Interrupted aortic arch is a relatively rare entity. This condition which can be defined as absence of luminal continuity of aortic arch has been reported to be associated with a number of congenital heart diseases in the literature. The two most important diagnostic tools are echocardiography and conventional angiography. In recent years, magnetic resonance imaging has become the most important since magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) is noninvasive and has a superior diagnostic capability. We assessed a relatively rare interrupted aortic arch and accompanied aortic arch and cardiac abnormalities in a 14-day-old infant with cardiac MRI and MRA which are noninvasive and don't expose the patient to radiation and discussed their contribution to the diagnosis.
