Comparison of Agronomic Characters, Total Seed Storage Proteins and Their Use for Genotypes Discrimination in the Kentucky Bluegrass (Poa Pratensis L.)
    (Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2010) Tamkoç, A.; Arslan, E.
This research aimed to investigate the genetic diversity among 11 Turkish Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis) genotypes using seed storage proteins and agronomic traits. Thirty nine polypeptide bands in range of 10 to 82 kDa were recorded. Genetic similarity among genotypes was estimated basing on Euclidian coefficients. Cluster analysis was performed using the unweighted pair-group method with arithmetic averages (UPGMA). Similarity, coefficients of 11 genotypes belonging to Poa pratensis ranged 85-100% with low diversity of genetic variation in protein profiles. Average Euclidean distance used for agronomic data ranged from 1.51 to 8.11. This clustering pattern for protein profiles and agronomic data showed that same genotypes were revealed in same groups.

The correlation and path analysis of yield and yield components on fenugreek lines (Trigonella foenum graecum L.) [Çemen (Trigonella foenum graecum L.) hatlarinda verim ve bazi verim komponentlerinin korelasyonu ve path analizi]
    (1996) Sade, B.; Akınerdem, Fikret; Tamkoç, A.; Topal, A.; Acar, R.; Soylu, S.
This study was conducted to determine the direct and indirect relations betwen yield and yield components of fenugreek. Fourty-seven fenugreek lines were used as material. It was determined the direct and indirect effects of studied traits on grain yield by means of the correlations and path coefficients. The significant correlation coefficients were found between grain yield per plant and branche number, pod number, pod lenght. grain number per plant, single grain weight. Acording to the path analysis, it is important the pod number and single grain yield, related to direct effect to increase grain yield on selection studies.

Sweet White Lupins Versus Local Bitter Genotype: Agronomic Characteristics as Affected by Different Planting Densities in the Goller Region of Turkey
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2002) Mülayim, M.; Tamkoç, A.; Babaoğlu, Mehmet
A 2-year study was conducted to determine optimum planting density and its effects on some agronomic characteristics of a local bitter Lupinus albus L. genotype (land race) and two sweet cultivars, namely Amiga and Lolita as new germplasms, which may offer advantages over currently grown local genotype in the Destigin district (37degrees59' N, 31degrees25' E) of Konya region, Turkey. Seeds of three genotypes were sown in combinations, at three different row spacing (15, 20 and 25 cm) and three row distances (9, 12 and 15 cm) (minimum 27 to maximum 74 plants m(-2)) in an experimental design of split-split plots of randomised complete blocks with three replications during the spring seasons of 1993 and 1994. The highest seed yield was obtained from the local bitter genotype with a low planting density of 15 x 9 cm, row spacing x row distance, respectively. Sweet cultivars were out yielded by the local genotype in almost every characteristic such as seed yield, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod except thousand seed weight. Additionally, the land race was more resistant to wilting disease, Fusarium sp., which severely affected seed yield, especially in 1993. The relationships between planting density and agronomic characteristics seem to be highly influenced by the cultivar, year and climatic conditions. The local genotype was least affected by environmental conditions, with sweet cultivars showing cultivar x year interactions significantly affecting the yield components.
