Özet
Erzurumlu Mustafa Darir is one of the most famous authors in the 14th century. His reputation comes from Siretu'n-Nebi and his role in transforming Mamluk Qypchaq into Oguz Turkic. Darir's Siretu'n-Nebi is prepared by compiling and translating the works of various Arabic prophetic biography authors. The work, which has been written as a mixture of poem and mostly prose is quite remarkable with its six volumes. The big volume of the book has also contributed to the Turkish vocabulary to a great extent. Having literary skills and dominance on Turkish language, Darir used a wide variety of vocabulary in Siretu'n-Nebi. Various words have been preferred for the same term in this book. Such a work of big-volume in simple Turkish deserved to be examined in terms of vocabulary. Therefore, we aimed to contribute to Old Anatolian Turkish by reviewing the first four volumes of Siretu'n-Nebi. "Taniklariyla Tarama Sozlugu" (Scanning Dictionary with Witnesses), which keeps its importance as the most comprehensive dictionary in Turkish vocabulary, has been used as a benchmark.
