Özet
This study was undertaken to examine the relation between mother's negligent attitudes towards their children and social behaviors of six year olds. The study group is composed of 321 children attending pre-school institutions and their mothers. In the study, Pre-school Social Behavior Scale-Teacher Form [1] which was administrated to the teachers of six year olds to collect data about their social behaviors, and negligence/indifference sub-dimension of Mother-Child Relationship-Mother Form [2] which was administrated to mothers to determine their indifferent/negligent attitudes towards their children. To analyze the data of the study, Pearson moment's multiplication linear correlation coefficient and simple linear regression analysis method were used. The results of the study revealed that mothers' negligent behaviors are positively related with children's physical aggressiveness, relational aggressiveness and depressive emotions, and that they are negatively related with children's positive social relation behaviors, and mothers' ignorant behaviors significantly predict children's social behaviors.
