Özet
We read with great interest the paper by Aratari et al. [1]. We totally agree with the authors that it is crucially important to evaluate the pattern of seasonality in the symptomatic, and recently diagnosed patients with IBD [1–4]. Albeith genetic tendency, immunologic and environmental factors are considered in the pathogenesis of IBD, the exact cause and the disease pathogenesis remains unestablished. Environmental factors are believed to trigger the onset of the disease in genetically susceptible individuals. Thus, seasonal variation studies are important for many scholars to investigate for infective agent(s) or a specific time period.
