dc.description.abstract | Facebook, as a phenomenon of the internet world in our days and a kind of social networking site (SNS) takes place among the web 2.0 technologies which has been used most commonly by users and on which those spend time most. The aim of this research, in which an education session has been performed in a facebook setting, is to explore the use of facebook for education purpose in a multidirectional way. This research which was formed as mixed method has been performed with the university students who are taking the elective course, named as "Science History." While 27 students have used the facebook environment on the purpose of education (facelearning), other 27 students haven't used the facebook environment. It is concluded that the students who interacted on facebook were more successful when their academic achievements were compared with other students at the end of education. It is also seen that students who took facebook education shared all the topics included in the course and different types of knowledge and also made comments on the shared materials. Students stated that use of facebook with education purposes has some advantages. | en_US |
