dc.description.abstractAmaç: Bu çalışma, ulusal tıp dergilerindeki makale özlerinin bölümlü olup olmamasının özün niteliğine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Bu tanımlayıcı araştırmanın örneklemi, Türk Tıp Dizinine giren iki ulusal tıp dergisiydi. Bu iki dergide son iki yılda yayınlanan, 100'ü araştırma makalesi olmak üzere 158 makale özü incelendi. Özlerden beklenen niteliklerin karşılanma durumu ile anahtar kelime ve toplam kelime sayıları belirlendi. Bulgular: Bölümlenmiş ve bölümlenmemiş özlerde toplam kelime sayısı benzer bulundu (122!pm40 ve 112pm50). Bölümlenmiş özlerde anahtar kelime sayısı (3.8pm1.0) bölümlenmemiş özlerdekinden (3.3!0.9) daha fazla idi. Bölümlü özlerde bölümlenmemiş özlere göre başlıkla uyumlu amaç belirtme (% 84 ve % 57), çalışmanın bulgularına dayalı sonuç yazma (% 82 ve % 23) ve Index Medicus'a uygun anahtar kelime yazma (% 79 ve % 62) oranları daha yüksekti. Araştırma makalelerinin özlerinde çalışma düzenini belirtme, araştırma materyalini açıklama, sayısal bulgulara yer verme ve bulgulara istatistiksel vurgu yapma oranları yönünden iki grup arasında önemli fark yoktu. Sonuç: Daha nitelikli makale özleri elde etmek için özler, bölümlü olarak hazırlanmalıdır.en_US
dc.description.abstractObjective: This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of abstracts of whether they have structured or not on quality in the national medical journals. Methods: The sampling of this descriptive study was two national medical journals indexed in Turkish Medical Index. One hundred and fifty eighth articles, including 100 research studies, which published in the last two years in these journals, were evaluated. The required quality of the abstracts and the number of the key words and the total words were determined. Results: The number of the total words was similar in the structured and unstructured abstracts (122pm40 vs 112pm50). The number of the key words in structured abstracts (3.8pm1.0) was more than the unstructured abstracts' (3.3pm0.9). The ratios of the aim suitable for title (84% vs 57%), the conclusion supported by the main results (82% vs 23%) and the agreement of key words to Index Medicus (79% vs 62%) are higher in the structured abstracts than the unstructured abstracts. In point of clarifying of the study methods, explaining of the research material, containing numerical values and emphasizing to statistical analysis, there was no significant difference in the abstracts of the research articles. Conclusion: The abstracts should be prepared as structured for more explanatory abstracts.en_US
