On bir günlük bir buzağıda akut babesiosis

Akut babesiosisden dolayı doğumdan bir gün sonra ölen, Holştayn ırkı inekten doğan bir buzağıda, 11 günlük iken Babesia bigemina enfeksiyonu tespit edildi. Buzağı, annesinden hiç kolostrum alamadığı için enfeksiyonun seyri çok şiddetliydi. Akut babesiosis'in tipik semptomlarına sahip olan buzağı, diminazene aceturate uygulamasına, kan nakline ve sıvı elektrolit tedavisine rağmen on iki günlükken öldü. Nekropside babesiosis'in karakteristik bulguları gözlendi.

Babesia bigemina infection was diagnosed in an eleven-day-old calf from a Holstein-breed cow died due to acute babesiosis the day after calving. The calf was not fed colostrum from its mother; therefore, the course of the infection was severe. The calf had typical symptoms of acute babesiosis and died at the age of 12 days despite of the application of diminazene aceturate, blood transfusion and fluid therapy. In necropsy, the characteristic lesions of the babesiosis were observed.
