Özet
In this study, a total of 50 Salmonella strains isolated from 48 feces and 2 blood samples in the microbiology laboratory of Konya Selçuk University Hospital, from January 1998 till May 2000, have been serotyped. Twenty nine of these strains were identified as S. typhimurium (1,4,5,12:i:1,2) and 21 of them as S. enteritidis (9,12:g,m:-). Antimicrobial susceptibility tests were performed by Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method according to NCCLS criteria. All of the S. typhimurium strains were found to be susceptible to cefepime, ceftazidime and ciprofloxacin, while susceptibilities to imipenem, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, cefuroxime, chloramphenicol and tetracycline were 96.5%, 82.8%, 56.5%, 24.1% and 6.9%, respectively. The susceptibilities of S. enteritidis isolates against cefepime, ceftazidime, imipenem and ciprofloxacin were 100%, whereas the susceptibility rates for trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole and chloramphenicol, cefuroxime, tetracycline and ampicillin were 76.2%, 42.9%, 14.3% and 4.8%, respectively.
