TÜRKİYE HİMÂYE-İ ETFÂL CEMİYETİ AKSARAY ŞUBESİ

Dünya tarihinde korunmaya muhtaç çocuklar ve bu çocuklar için insanlığın gereğini yerine getirenler olmuştur. Türklerin çocuklara ve kadınlara verdiği önem, tanıdığı ayrıcalık tarihin sayfalarında yerini almıştır. Türk tarihinde çocukları koruyan kurum denilince şüphesiz günümüzdeki ismi Çocuk Esirgeme Kurumu olan Himaye-i Etfâl gelir. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti döneminde kurumsallaşan cemiyetin kökleri Osmanlı’nın son dönemlerine uzanmaktadır. Özellikle 20. yüzyılın ilk çeyreğinden itibaren teşkilatlanmasını hızlandıran Himaye-i Etfâl Cemiyeti’nin şubelerinden birisi de Aksaray şehrindedir. Fakir ve kimsesiz çocuklar başta olmak üzere toplumun umudu, yarını olan çocukların daha iyi şartlarda büyümesini, daha kaliteli eğitim almasını amaçlayan cemiyetin çok faydalı olduğu görülmektedir. Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında Türkiye Himayei Etfâl Cemiyeti Aksaray Şubesi’nin başkanı Vasıf Bey’dir. Çalışmalarıyla öne çıkan isimlerden olan Eczacı Vasıf Bey’in şahsi gayretleri de dâhil olmak üzere Türkiye Himaye-i Etfâl Cemiyeti Aksaray Şubesinin faaliyetleri dönemin gazetelerinden ve diğer belge ve bilgilerden öğrenilmeye çalışılmıştır.

There were children in need of protection in the world history and those who fulfilled the need of humanity for these children. The importance given by Turks to the children and women, and the privilege given to them were placed in the pages of history. When it comes to the institution that protected children in Turkish history, first thing come to mind was, undoubtedly, Himaye-i Etfâl whose current name is the Child Protection Agency. The roots of this institution during the late Ottoman period extended to the Republic of Turkey. Especially one of the branches of the Himaye-i Etfâl Cemiyeti, which accelerated its organization since the first quarter of the 20th century, was in Aksaray city. It is seen that this institution, which aims to ensure the hope, future and better education to the poor and lonely children. In the first years of the Republic, the head of Aksaray Branch of the Himaye-i Etfâl was Vasıf Bey. In this article, including the personal efforts of pharmacist Vasıf Bey, who was one of the prominent figures with his works, the activities of the Himaye-i Etfâl Cemiyeti Aksaray Branch were tried to be learned from the newspapers of the period and other documents and information.
